Last week I suggested that Citrix and RES Software would be announcing a licensing deal that would give Citrix access to reverse seamless Windows sometime on Wednesday. Well there wasn’t much in the way of an announcement from Citrix, but RES did confirm on Wednesday that it has signed an agreement that gives Citrix access to reverse seamless Windows.
While RES currently markets Virtual Desktop Extender (VDX) as a way Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop customers to have access to reverse seamless Windows today, it turns out that Citrix don’t actually intend to integrate into XenApp or XenDesktop.

Desktop virtualization is becoming increasingly accepted as a means of addressing the need to support business initiatives through the creation of a highly dynamic workspace whilst enabling IT organizations to improve essential desktop management services, facilitate the migration to Windows 7, and at the same time reduce IT management costs.
